Hey! My name is Precious Agho, I am the current Full-Time Officer for the schools of Art, Architecture and Design and Computing and Digital Media.
I have chosen to stay within this role as there is more work to be done for you as students. I believe I am the right person for this position because I am easy going, hard working, I enjoy a good laugh and have the tenacity which has been proven in my time in post to lobby and achieve change for students. I really enjoy talking to different people and making a positive impact on students’ wellbeing. Anybody who knows me, knows that I live up to my name. I AM PRECIOUS. With integrity, my slogan for this campaign is still the same, YOUR VISION MY MISSION. This is because in my time serving you as students, I have gained the necessary skills to continue to work and have also established important relationships to get the ball rolling.
If elected, I will continue to be committed to engaging with all students across both campuses on a regular basis through organising forums; which would give students the opportunity to make their voices heard and to improve their University experience.
What WE achieved together.
-
Planted over 400 trees during the lockdown.
-
Won the motion to have hand sanitisers dotted around campus + better facilities for our women's toilets.
-
Pushed the student voice to another level when it came to speaking up about what really mattered (mental health, fee reductions, quality of online lectures).
CONTINUOUS AIMS FOR YOU AS STUDENTS BOTH FACE-FACE AND ONLINE.
ALDGATE and HOLLOWAY CAMPUS
-
I pledge that I will continue to personally work with every student that has any issue especially when it comes to student complaints
-
Continue to work to bridge the gap between students and staff in order for better engagement and student support.
-
Continue to lobby for a bigger SU for students union at Aldgate campus.
-
Continue to host various inclusive events to further promote and achieve SU presence.
-
CONTINUE TO LOBBY FOR STUDENT FEE REDUCTION.
-
REIGNITE the discussion about the name change for Aldgate campus.
-
Establish more contact time hours with personal tutors, academic support and fairer grading systems, especially for B.A.M.E students.
-
Continue to plant more trees for our environment.
MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING SUPPORT
It can be difficult to know where to go for help regarding mental health. Currently, it’s not easy for students to navigate which support systems are available and there can be long waiting times for the counselling service. I would work closely with administration to expand mental health services as part of a holistic approach for wellbeing.
TOGETHER WE CAN CONTINUE TO MAKE AN EFFECTIVE CHANGE.
YOUR VISION, MY MISSION
