Members Meeting

Wednesday 24th April 2024 - Annual Members Meeting

5.00-7.00/30pm - Annual Members Meeting
Location: Room TM1-83, Blue Zone, Holloway Campus

Remote access is available for this meeting via this link. Please note that sound and vision quality cannot be guaranteed. The room is a very large room and is not ideal for a hybrid meeting (one which is in-person and also remote at the same time). Therefore please make every effort to attend in person.

  • Are you a London Met student who has a matter you would like to discuss at the Annual Members Meeting?

  • Would you like LMSU to take a position on a student-related matter?

  • Would you like LMSU to campaign or support a campaign on a student-related issue? If you then you can suggest an agenda item. This means we will set some time aside in the meeting for you to present your issue and for the meeting to discuss it.

Coma along for discussion, debate, soft drinks and pizza!

What is the Annual Members Meeting?

The Union holds an Annual Members Meeting (AMM) every year. In this meeting, amongst other things, the Union's financial accounts are received and any policy is voted upon. Any member of the Union may attend the AMM and vote upon any policy within that meeting. Members will also get an opportunity to speak for or against a policy that is up for vote. Students can submit a motion (see below for information) or simply submit a 'matter to discuss'.

For example, you might like to have a discussion or debate on a local issue (e.g. something happening in your local community, in London or specifically at London Met Uni or at London Met Students' Union that affects students. Or a national issue e.g. something happening in the UK that affects students. Or an international issue e.g. something happening somewhere in the world that is having an effect on students. As long as in your view the issue is having an effect on London Met students then it is fine.

The AMM is also a chance for our student community to come together and chat, share ideas, develop friendships and get to know students who otherwise you may not have the opportunity to meet. We provide free pizza and soft drinks.
