Dear Fellow Students,
I am Abhinav Kumar, a student of MSc Public Health (2024) candidate running for position of Student Union Leader, I stand before you with a passionate commitment to address issues to make a positive change within our university community. Throughout my tenure, I pledge to prioritize inclusivity, transparency, and student empowerment. Together, we can address pressing issues and create “London Metropolitan University” campus environment that supports the academic, social, and personal growth of every student. My manifesto Main focus points are as follows-
1. Enhanced Career Services – As we know the enhancement of career related job roles are being decreasing day by day so in this enhancement it includes personalized career counselling, resume workshops and networking events with companies to develop job required skills.
2. Improvement of mental health services – In today’s stressful schedule we need to go through various mental health issues so, I purpose to expand services by increasing the number of counselors and improving accessibility to these services.
3. Student Support Network – I will introduce student support so that students who don’t attend seminars regularly and are not aware of their assignment and project deadlines can get a sense of course and belonging so that they can focus on their career goals rather than distracting for part time jobs which are not worth for their successful path.
4. Financial Aid and Scholarship Opportunities - My focus to grow financial aid and scholarship opportunities for low-income backgrounds or facing financial hardship which includes merit-based awards, need based scholarships.
5. Promotion of Entrepreneurship and Innovation – Promoting innovation in university by organizing startup incubators, pitch competitions, and networking events for aspiring entrepreneurs for inspiring students to pursue their passions, contribute to economic growth and innovation.
