The Students' Union Elections ran from the 4th to the 8th of March and were a great success with great efforts put in by all candidates on their campaigns and manifestos. We are very proud and pleased with all those who took part in helping with the elections and wish the best of success to our future SU-elected winners!
On Friday 8th March 2024 at 6 pm, we announced the winners of our Election 2024/25.
Election winners:
Full-time Officers
President - Awesome Olasope was elected in the seventh round with a total of 906 votes.
VP Education - Fahmida Yesmin was elected in the third round with a total of 819 votes.
VP Equity and Welfare - Mojahar Ali was elected in the first round with a total of 912 votes.
VP Activities and Opportunities - Nahid Binta Islam was elected in the fourth round with a total of 623 votes.
Part-time Officers
Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Students' Officer - Bushra Hussain was elected in the first round with a total of 648 votes.
Disabled Students Officer - Sophie Thomas was elected in the first round with a total of 548 votes.
Women's Officer - Margarita Damai was elected in the first round round with a total of 763 votes.
Student Council Members
In the first round were elected Chibuzor Nwadi, Muhammad Saeed Ul Hassan Raza, Margarita Damai, Stephanie Balogun, and Abhinav Kumar. In the second round, Kunal Samdhyan and Basir Samim. On the fourth round was elected Ellie Chan. In the seventh round was elected. In the ninth round was elected Gayatri Pankaj Shetty. On the tenth round was elected Ramona-Diana Burlacu.
