Every month, we highlight the great work of some of our student volunteers.
This month, we spoke to Ibraheem Imran who has shared their experience as a society leader at LMSU.
Hi there my name is Ibraheem, I’m a second year accounting and finance student at Londonmet and the current president of the Islamic society. The Islamic society is a fairly new society which was relaunched by myself earlier this year. With the help of a few friends from the Pakistani society, Arab society and a massive contribution from the Students Union and their team we were able to host an iftar event just after the easter holidays, the event brought In charities like Islamic relief to come and do their fundraising and guest speaker to come and give a talk. I’ve been volunteering at many events since quite young and believe its one of the best ways to give back to the community. Volunteering also opens up a lot of opportunities as it allows you to meet new people and personalities each time. Volunteering can impact many people, it allows for events/ activities to take place because there will always be someone helping out from their own kindness and not expecting anything in return.
