Nominations open for the LMSU Leadership Elections!
The LMSU leadership elections take place every year, and it's a chance for you to gain some fantastic experience for your CV, to be a charity trustee, company director, and even a university governor. You'll be able to represent students at London Met and campaign to make a difference to their university experience - all while developing your skills, employability, and getting a full-time salary for a year!
You’ll be elected to hold office for a period of one year, during which we’ll provide training, induction, and skills-development, and support you to deliver your goals!
There’s a variety of full-time and part-time roles available.
Full-time roles
- SU President
- VP Education
- VP Activities and Opportunities
- VP Equity and Welfare
Part-time roles
- LGBTQ+ Students’ Officer
- Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Students’ Officer
- Womens’ Officer
- Disabled Students’ Officer
10x Student Council Members
The four full-time roles are open to any student to take on after completing their degree, or by taking a year out during their degree. If elected, you will hold office from 1 July 2025 until 30 June 2026, and be paid an annual salary of £29,500.
The four part-time officers and the ten Student Council Members are voluntary roles that are undertaken from September 2025 until June 2026, during which time you must be a student at London Met. If you are running for a part-time officer role, you must identify with the group that the role represents.

What are you waiting for? The nominations process is simple, just follow the steps below:
- Head over to our website, https://www.londonmetsu.org.uk/elections, and make sure that you’re logged in via the top-right hand side.
- You’ll be able to click ‘Stand in election’ – fill in your details, and select which position you want to stand for.
- You need to find 2 other students to support your nomination - these are called your ‘proposers’. Once they have agreed to be your proposer, use their Student ID numbers to find them in the system and add them.
You’ll be able to upload your manifesto and photo at this point, but there’s no rush – you don’t need to do so until 17 March at 9am. We’ll be in touch with further information about that and the manifesto support we offer once you have submitted your nomination.
Thinking of somebody that would be great in one of these roles? Recommend them by using the ‘Recommend Your Leader’ form below, and we’ll send then an email (anonymously or not, it’s up to you!) letting them know that they’ve been recommended to run for a role.
